The Visitor Center, located at the park entrance, is an historic site where most of the original structures from the plantation times are still intact and in use today. For example, the museum is located in the former home of the last plantation owner, Boy Herrera, and the gift shop is located in the old plantation office and warehouse.

The completion of the Visitor Center was possible thanks to some international funding agencies and also donations from both the Bonairean community and regular visitors to Bonaire. We would like to thank Stichting DOEN, WWF-NL, KNAP Fonds, Prins Bernhard Cultuur Fonds, Maduro and Curiel Bank (Bonaire), Cap’t. Don’s Habitat, Bonhata, Jeff and Linda Goldman, Jay Havisser and the BONAI group, GAIA pro, Sign Studio and the whole Bonairean community.

The Visitor Center is an excellent opportunity to combine recreational and educational activities. There is something for everybody regardless of age and level of adventure.
